Description

A wine of exceptional quality made with the best grapes of a single harvest. A Vintage declaration occurs when producers believe that all conditions are gathered to release the highest standard of quality. On average, fully declared 2 to 3 times per decade, the wine must be bottled between the 2nd and 3rd year after the harvest. A wine built to age for decades reaching full maturity after 20 to 40 years of bottle aging.

Tasting Notes

Ruby in colour. 1980 was a classic vintage and this wine from Taylor's is a lovely example. With a fresh aroma of raspberry, cigar box, nutmeg, cinnamon and white pepper, it reveals good acidity, elegance, balance and nice weight on the palate, expressing apricot, blood orange, plum and white pepper flavours. Freshness carries on through to the persistent finish.
