Description
Pombal do Vesuvio comes from the terraced vineyards that surround the ancient dovecote, Ôpombal' in Portuguese, situated at 200 meters in the heart of this beautiful and remote property. This is the second wine of the estate, highly approachable and expressive, with good concentration, elegance, balance and depth.
Tasting Notes
This is a beautifully balanced wine with an intense deep red colour, and presents smoky, forest scents of wild berry and resinous notes. With a fine palate presence that is round, sumptuous and immediately approachable, the red fruit flavours and mineral notes display a well-defined schist quality of the terroir, amidst superb acidity, good structure and layers of delicious ripe dark cherry.
