Description
Perez Barquero's Solera del Cincuentenario comprises an extraordinary collection of traditional generoso wines, slowly aged by the system of criaderas and soleras. Particularly among them, the Palo Cortado harmoniously combines the refinement and saline nuances of its ageing under a veil of flor, with the broad, deep and structured style of a gentle oxidative ageing in old French oak butts. Pure finesse.
Tasting Notes
A very old multi-vintage blend of wines with more than 50 years of age, delivering fine notes of dried fruit, balsamic, dried flowers and old exotic wood. This distinguished oxidative wine features an added layer of finesse and complexity one might expect from a great Palo Cortado, and is a heady mix of old wine attributes with the vigour of a younger wine, deftly blending concentration with power and elegance. Sublime.
