Description

Bastardo aka Trousseau in the Jura region of France is an almost extinct variety in the Douro. Sourced from a very small, old block of vines at Quinta da Veiga, the grappes are foot trodden in granit lagar with stems and native yeasts. Conceito Bastardo is a light, fresh and elegant wine, it ages very slowly in bottle, almost showing no change over the years.

Tasting Notes

Fresh, light and fruity with good acidity and lively polished tannins. Notes of red and black cherries, strawberries with hints of herbs and white pepper. Utterly elegant with a crisp finish.
