Description

Wine made from Sercial grapes grown on the slopes of Seixal, where the distance from the sea varies between 150 and 200 meters and at an altitude of approximately 60 meters, owned by Mr. Manuel Eugénio Fernandes (MEF). This bottling originated from the blending of 2 wines with different aging processes, despite being from the same origin. 160 liters were aged for the last 35 years in old casks at the MEF warehouse, located by the sea in Seixal. The other 60 liters were aged in old French oak casks at the Barbeito warehouses from the end of 1988 until 2016, and in that year, transferred to a demijohn. The addition of the wine from the demijohn was essential to balance this frasqueira. Bottled in March 2023.

Tasting Notes

Fresh and minty bouquet, sea air, dates, dried nuts, pistachio and lemon zest, some leather and resin as well. Elegant texture with well-defined acidity, citrus flavors. Dry finish and an incredible salty freshness.
