Description

In 1993, the Redoma 1991 was Niepoort's first red wine to be released in the market. Like Douro, it is a wine with a strong personality, made from several vineyards over 60 years old, mostly facing North, in the Cima Corgo region, where the different varieties are co-planted. Full bodied and concentrated, with polished tannins, it combines the austerity and authenticity of a Douro wine with an earthy and balsamic character, and the characteristic freshness and elegance of Niepoort's wines.

Tasting Notes

Dark in colour with red and black berry, plum and spices aromas. A mineral earthy character, intense with plenty of Douro personality. The palate is very well defined with vibrant acidity and a well integrated tannic structure. The fruit is present with a strong mineral character, powerful but with an appealing freshness, very long and persistent.
