Description

A wine of exceptional quality made with the best grapes of a single harvest. A Vintage declaration occurs when producers believe that all conditions are gathered to release the highest standard of quality. On average, fully declared 2 to 3 times per decade, the wine must be bottled between the 2nd and 3rd year after the harvest. A wine built to age for decades reaching full maturity after 20 to 40 years of bottle aging.

Tasting Notes

Dark crimson purple in colour. 1994 has been widely celebrated as one of the greatest vintages for Vintage Port in the 20th century. This 1994 Vesuvio delivers an exquisite fragrance of blackcurrant, roses, aniseed and chocolate. The palate is rich and full, built with superb structure, with soft and lush velvet tannins, blueberry and a firm finish that lingers with mint chocolate.
