Foxtrot orginates from a hilly part of the Alentejo, Serra de Sao Mamede and Portalegre. Old vines averaging 80+ years old from granitic and clay soils. Mix of Alicante Bouschet, Arinto, Trincadeira and Grand Noir de la Calmette. The bunches are kept whole and the wine goes through a soft maceration with the stems for five days, then pressed and fermented in stainless steel. Racked into an old barrel after two months, where it rested for a year.
Tasting Notes
A pale and delicate ruby color, red berry fruit, some grip, sweet scented, very fresh and finely honed. Easy drinking, well-structured with a mineral finish.
