A Vintage declaration occurs when producers believe that all conditions are gathered to release the highest standard of quality. On average, fully declared 2 to 3 times per decade, the wine must be bottled between the 2nd and 3rd year after the harvest. A wine built to age for decades reaching full maturity after 20 to 40 years of bottle aging.
Tasting Notes
Dark purple in colour. 1994 is a classic vintage and probably one of the best of the 20th century. Showy, hedonistic and ostentatious, this massive VP has great structure and expresses blueberry, cassis, truffles, black pepper, licorice and sexy flesh. The balance is wonderful, the texture is sublime and the finish is awesome.
