Description

A wine of exceptional quality made with the best grapes of a single harvest. A Vintage declaration occurs when producers believe that all conditions are gathered to release the highest standard of quality. On average, fully declared 2 to 3 times per decade, the wine must be bottled between the 2nd and 3rd year after the harvest. A wine built to age for decades reaching full maturity after 20 to 40 years of bottle aging.

Tasting Notes

1977 is a classic Vintage; concentrated, long lasting and complex. Declared by all the major Port houses. Highly structured and balanced wines, marked by strong tannins, great elegance and staying power. The best wines have the tannin and structure to age for decades. Raspberry, coffee, licorice and chocolate notes intermingle hamoniously amidst a rich and powerful palate. Stunning.
