Description
A wine of exceptional quality made with the best grapes of a single harvest. A Vintage declaration occurs when producers believe that all conditions are gathered to release the highest standard of quality. On average, fully declared 2 to 3 times per decade, the wine must be bottled between the 2nd and 3rd year after the harvest. A wine built to age for decades reaching full maturity after 20 to 40 years of bottle aging.
Tasting Notes
This Vintage is like the 1966 in that it only became recognized for its real star quality years after the declaration. General declaration. Rich and harmonious nose of fig. Flavourful and a firm body, very rich, good fruit, outstanding length. Simply superb.
