Description

Batuta is a wine of extremes, tannins are very fine, aromas are intense but never exuberant. It has incredible concentration from the old centenarian vineyards, yet it is very fresh and elegant.ÊThe grapes are sourced from north facing 70 yo vineyards at Quinta do Carril, which offer slow and balanced ripening, as well as from centenarian vines near Quinta de Napoles. Batuta is the result of a very delicate vinification process, with long maceration but little extraction, where all the details are carefully considered in order to obtain a complex, fine and elegant wine.

Tasting Notes

Intense and complex aromas of black fruit & minerals combined with notes of spices, black and green pepper, tobacco and cigar box. Very elegant, tight and precise on the palate with intense fruit and impressive minerality and freshness. Fine and seductive tannic structure, perfectly balanced with very good acidity. At almost 20 years of age, this Batuta is absolutely stunning with many years of life ahead.
