Description
Pombal do Vesuvio comes from the terraced vineyards that surround the ancient dovecote, Ôpombal' in Portuguese, situated at 200 meters in the heart of this beautiful and remote property. This is the second wine of the estate, highly approachable and expressive, with good concentration, elegance, balance and depth.
Tasting Notes
The 2017 Pombal has more alcohol than the 2016 vintage, and a more concentrated, deep red colour. The floral nose has heaps of freshness, with aromas of roses, rockrose and blueberries. In the mouth, there are juicy plum and wild berry flavours, with a hint of vanilla, and a well-constructed frame that balances power, concentration, elegance and structure, onto a big and long finish.
