Description

A wine of exceptional quality made with the best grapes of a single harvest. A Vintage declaration occurs when producers believe that all conditions are gathered to release the highest standard of quality. On average, fully declared 2 to 3 times per decade, the wine must be bottled between the 2nd and 3rd year after the harvest. A wine built to age for decades reaching full maturity after 20 to 40 years of bottle aging.

Tasting Notes

An outstanding vintage with ripe fruit flavours and concentrated tannins, great balance and structure. Certainly one of the absolute finest Vintage Ports of the last 50 years. Declared by all major houses. Enticing nose of menthol, cinnamon, nutmeg, leading to fresh cherry and toffee notes. Ripe with fully resolved tannins, this elegant VP has fully matured and expresses some chocolate notes, with a clean and long finale.
